Brother Knights -

I am excited to report to you that our membership continues to provide support to the causes of the Knights of Columbus, our parishes, and the numerous ministries that look to us for assistance. Thanks be to God and your determination to get involved. Like any good fraternal organization, the more we do, the more we are asked to do for those ministries and causes.

So the question is: Do we say No? Or do we Grow? Well I say we grow!! There are many ways in which we can grow. If you have been a member that joined over a year ago, and your involvement has waned, please consider getting yourself re-engaged. We need help ranging from committees for our service programs (Council, Family, Youth, Church/ Vocations, Community, Pro-Life, Gibault), to admissions, to retention, to communications. Don’t underestimate what your involvement could mean to the people we work to serve.

If you joined within the last year, I encourage you to work to achieve the Shining Armor Award. This is a program designed to get and keep those that recently joined involved in the Council and to help us grow. It is an award of distinction given to those that exemplify what is a true Knight of Columbus. The requirements are simple, and to qualify, new Knights must during their first year:

Be involved in at least 3 council service programs.
Attend at least 3 council business meetings.
Receive the Second and Third degrees.
Meet with their council’s insurance representative.
Recruit at least one new member.
